Steven J. Braun was born in Minnesota and raised in Mason City, Iowa. He received his bachelor's degree from Carlton College, in Northfield, Minnesota, and holds both an Master of Arts and of Iowa Juris Doctorate Degree from the University. Mr. Braun is a frequent speaker at continuing legal education seminars on computer law and the law of the internet. He is the author of Chapter 22 of the current Missouri Corporate and Partnership Forms Handbook (Computer Hardware and Software Purchase Documents) published by the Missouri Bar Association. Mr. Braun has served as vice-chair of the Missouri and chair of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association committees on computer law. He has lived in Prairie Village, Kansas since 1985, with his wife Jean W. Braun.
